Modern Jive (MJ) a ’street style’ partner dance straight from the likes of “Step Up” and “Dance With Me”! that is done to music straight from the charts and is perfect for everyday people just like you! This is NOT rock’n roll. Incorporating lead and follow fundamentals, this style is known for its exciting and energetic movements and looks great whether you’re clubbing, strutting your stuff or dancing at a friend’s wedding or party!
West Coast Swing (WCS) is an evolving, modern partner dance, prioritising music, movement, and mutual communication. The Westie culture values individuality and developmental education and is danced to Blues, R&B, Hip Hop and the latest top 40. WCS has been enjoyed by dancers for many years all over the world and is a growing community right here in Australia.
TUESDAY - Beginner Courses & Classes
Tuesday night - 6 week blocks & drop in classes
BOOK NOW Rotational format. Partner required.
7:00 - 8:30 pm – Lesson & Social
Cost: $99 per 6 week block (*get Friday night free)
$20 per week - casual attendance
Venue: The Surrounds Liesure Centre, 6 Emerald Dr, Helensvale
Partner or not, booking and payment in advance is required!
Curriculum designed to fast track you through essential lead & follow techniques to better develop your partnering skills while allowing individuals ot to become more proficient on the social dance floor as well.
Intensive development of new and excited dancers.
TUESDAY - Level Up Partner Training (MJ)

8:00 - 8:30 pm – Open Floor/Social/Practice
Cost: $99 per person (includes full 6 weeks & free entry on Friday nights in Broadbeach)

Partner required! Tuesday’s are being dedicated to our die-hard dance addicts who are interested in training for competitions, improving their performance factor and/or gaining advanced technical understanding of this dance style.
These sessions will be taught by Australia’s top Modern Jive dancers and will include routine rehearsals and personalised one on one time.
Dancers will be encouraged to focus on better partnering and connection skills which will allow individuals to become more proficient on the social dance floor as well.
For dancers who want to be challenged.
WEDNESDAY - West Coast Swing (WCS)

8:00 - 8:30 pm - Introductory class (Level 1)
8:30 - 9:00 pm - Social dancing
9:00 - 9:30 pm - Development class (Level 2)
9:30 - 10:30 pm - Social dancing

Venue: The Gold Coast Tavern , 150 Bundall Rd, Bundall Qld 4217 (opposite HOTA)
No partner required to learn this mooth modern style of partner dance that incorporates technique and musical interpretation and is danced to Blues, R&B, Hip Hop and the latest top 40. Known for allowing both partners to improvise steps while dancing together, WCS has been enjoyed by dancers for many years all over the world and is a growing community right here in Australia.
FRIDAY - Modern Jive (MJ)

7:30 - 8:15 pm – Beginner class
8:15 - 9:00 pm - Social dancing
9:00 - 9:45 pm - Progression class
9:45 - 10:30 pm - Social dancing

This style is known for its exciting and energetic movements and looks great whether you’re out partying, clubbing or dancing at a friend’s wedding or social event!
Private Lessons
Weeknights & weekends
Times negotiated to suit both teacher & student.
Private lessons for individuals and/or couples are available on a case by case basis and are taught by one of our mainstream teachers. Private lessons are conducted at the home of Le Step GC, The Dance Shed in Bundall.
Cost is the same for an individual or a partnership.
If an individual seeks us to provide them with a practice partner additionally to the allocated teacher, an additional cost will be added to cover the provided partner’s time.
Wedding couples & Bridal parties.

Intermediate Routine
Saturday (5 hours) - 2024 dates to be advised

This year’s Intermediate/Advanced choreographed routine will be taught over 2 massive days in 1 weekend and is designed to push dancers out of their comfort zone and enhance their ability to execute more difficult moves with precise timing, styling and musicality. We then provide practice & performance opportunities to further develop those skills. We recommend dancers should have at least learned one previous routine before trying to take this one on.
Broadbeach Mall Open-Air Dance Parties
2nd Saturday of every 2nd month

Bi-monthly event held in the open air arena "Under the Sails" in the Broadbeach Mall. Dinner plans usually made prior to the party for maximising our social scene then 3 hours of non-stop music.
This dance party is a FREE event - everyone is welcome.
