Monday Night

Hope you can join us on Monday nights for West Coast Swing classes right here on the Gold Coast. The first Monday of the month is our Wine Cheese Session where you can BYO drinks and a plate of something.  This is a great way to mingle and get to know some of your fellow dancers.
We are thrilled to be actively promoting, teaching and exposing you to West Coast Swing classes on Monday nights!
Please join us at the Broadbeach Senior Citizens Center from 7:30pm for our beginner class then into a night of dancing and more classes from there. A great way to make Monday’s something to look forward too.
Everyone welcome.

Friday Night

Join us every Friday night at Broadbeach for the Gold Coast’s biggest and most popular dance night!  So much fun and super easy to learn.  We’ll have you carving up the floor in only a couple of lessons…

This fantastic venue sports a premium dance floor and is fully air conditioned for your comfort.  The class is taught from an elevated stage, so everyone gets to see the moves as well as hear the teacher.  Friday nights are known for fun by these addicted dancers.  Join the group at the Casino for something to eat and drink after class.

What you need to know

Arrive on time

All our evening classes start right on 7:30pm so we recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to this to enable you to get in the door and be ready to dance - especially if it’s your first night.

This is the same for workshops, routines and for private lessons too.  Always plan to arrive ahead of the start time so you’ve got time to put your shoes on and prepare for the dancing.

First timer passes

If you enjoy your first night and think you’ll come back to do another class, ask one of our friendly staff about the First Timer pass.

The pass is designed to get you over the initial awkwardness and have you dancing till you drop before you know it.  $60 for the pass and that will get you 6 classes that you can use at any of our venues.  Only available to purchase on your first night.

Common Questions

What do I wear?

Smart-casual is the answer!  Guys, for you this is simple.  As if you were going out with your mates for a few quiet ones or a social gathering.  Please, no muscle shirts (even if you have the best bod in the world).

Ladies, smart casual can mean so much…but shoes are the key for you.  Try & avoid slip on shoes. You want something that will stay on your feet when you’re spinning across the floor.  Avoid rubber soles & wear a heel you’re comfortable in.

Do I need a partner?

No!  Modern Jive & West Coast Swing are partner style dances but the best part about classes with Le Step on the Coast is that you don’t need to BYO a partner!

We have many guys and ladies that come along to classes on their own or with a group of friends.  Our class format is to rotate everyone around the room so that the beginner dancers get to dance with the more experienced dancers too – that’s the way to improve and it’s also the best social aspect of learning to dance.
