Modern Jive (MJ) a ’street style’ partner dance straight from the likes of “Step Up” and “Dance With Me”! that is done to music straight from the charts and is perfect for everyday people just like you! This is NOT rock’n roll. Incorporating lead and follow fundamentals, this style is known for its exciting and energetic movements and looks great whether you’re clubbing, strutting your stuff or dancing at a friend’s wedding or party!
West Coast Swing (WCS) is an evolving, modern partner dance, prioritising music, movement, and mutual communication. The Westie culture values individuality and developmental education and is danced to Blues, R&B, Hip Hop and the latest top 40. WCS has been enjoyed by dancers for many years all over the world and is a growing community right here in Australia.
TUESDAY - Beginner Modern Jive - Course 1 - Next-Gen
6 week course - we take no responsibility for the addiction to dance that follows!
Course 1 Dates: 03/02/2026 - 10/03/2026
BOOK NOW No partner required. Rotational format.
7:00 - 8:00 pm – Class format.
8:00 - 8:30 pm - Social dancing (pratice opportunity).
Cost: $120 per person (incudes 6 consecutive Tuesday nights - 3, 10, 17, 24 Feb & 3, 10 Mar 2026)
Venue: The Surrounds Liesure Centre, 6 Emerald Dr, Helensvale
Payment: Required on the first Tuesday of the course. This can be paid by eftpos or cash at the door upon entry.
*please note this is a 6 week course and no missed classes will be refunded.
BONUS FOR “FIRST TIME EVER” BEGINNER COURSE:
To assist your learning and of course the fun factor, during your first ever Modern Jive course, you will also be able to attend our Friday night Modern Jive night absolutely FREE (on the weeks of your Tuesday course). That’s an extra 6 FREE nights of dance lessons and social.

This program has been designed for the growth of partnerships interested in developing advanced partnering skills and training for competitions.
Focus is on improved performance factor, technical understanding and tools to dance well with anyone.
Courses taught by Australia’s top Modern Jive dancers and will include personalised one on one time for tailored feedback. For dancers that want to grow!

Private Lessons
Weeknights & weekends
Times negotiated to suit both teacher & student.
Private lessons for individuals and/or couples are available on a case by case basis and are taught by one of our mainstream teachers. Private lessons are conducted at the home studios of our Le Step GC teachers. For an additional travel cost, there are some instances where a teacher may travel to you. Please be aware this is a safety consideration for our staff.
Cost for the lesson is the same for an individual or a partnership.
If an individual seeks us to provide them with a practice partner additional to the allocated teacher, an additional cost will be added to cover the provided partner’s time.

Our Intermediate/Advanced choreographed routine will be taught in 3 nights over 3 weeks and is designed to push dancers out of their comfort zone and enhance their ability to execute more difficult moves with precise timing, styling and musicality. We then provide practice & performance opportunities to further develop those skills. We recommend dancers should have at least learned one previous routine before trying to take this one on.
Broadbeach Mall Open-Air Dance Parties

Bi-monthly event held in the open air arena "Under the Sails" in the Broadbeach Mall. Dinner plans usually made prior to the party for maximising our social scene then 3 hours of non-stop music.
This dance party is a FREE event - everyone is welcome.
